My name is Signe Skovmand Jakobsen, and I'm an exchange student from the Technical University of Denmark. I study architectural engineering and this is my last year of studying. Last semester I was an intern at a large danish architectural company in their sustainability department.
BIM and databases....?
I would say an intelligent building is a building which is sustainable. It is a passive building which for example gains most of its heat from the sun and uses the daylight instead of artificial lighting. That said, I think it is a building which is able to sense changes before humans, and therefore can prevent over heating and/or cooling, can sense when the lights should be on/off, can start the tumbler when the sun is at its highest if you got PVs etc..
